Star of Davids

So this past weekend, I did my RISD homework. Not too exciting but it literally took forever and, from the pictures below, you wouldn't have thought that. I had to do a lot of color blending to get just the right shade, which took about a total of three hours. I know wow cRaZY. But pretty much what you see from my images below is the color difference between modern and impressionist paint in the form of Star of Davids.

Not good lighting but you get the gist. Ignore my feet and toe ring (yes, I have one of those don't make fun of me). The painting on the left is modern and the one on the right is impressionist. As you can clearly see, I had trouble making the star and even had to pull out a ruler, which was eventually tossed aside, and decided that my own eye is better than a dumb ruler. I painted a stroke of black in the upper left hand corners of both the paintings so I can, at a later date, paint the words "modern" and "impressionist" on them in white to give these paintings some form of contrast.

Here is the photo regarding the process of my work from this past glorious Sunday afternoon. As you can clearly see my computer, I didn't know what certain colors looked like.

I haven't been getting enough sleep, lately, so I'm running on fumes and even writing this whole thing is taking something out of me, which is sad because I'm only 21 not 1 million years old. But last night I had my weekly RISD oil paining class and was painting this picture below (not my actual work of art but what I was suppose to be painting. I need a new phone cause my iPhone 5's camera quality is absolute shit so you can't see any detail in this picture but you can see my teacha from behind the pole. And check out that duck, man!)

Since I am/was moving at snail speed (from lack of sleep probably) I didn't really come up with a decent painting but I did make a great apple.

Oh man look at that shading and blending wow hottie over here apple!!! That apple literally took me a half of an hour to make.
